[Well this was just perfect. All he had wanted was to take a nice, long nap after that last battle with Ryuukotsusei, and what did he get? Dumped off in some strange world, apparently. The city almost reminded him of Kagome's era, but it was also different. This place reaked of death and decay, and it almost felt like dark shadow was hanging over everything, sucking the life out of it. No doubt this was one of Naraku's little tricks.]

[There's no time to fret about this unwanted development, though. Inuyasha is very hard at work trying to figure important things out. Like what the hell this stupid technological contraption is supposed to be.]

[After a while, the PCD is accidentally turned on, just in time for those listening to hear Inuyasha talking to himself.]

-ooks like one of Kagome’s picture boxes, only this one’s smaller…

[He looks over the device for a bit longer, only to give a low growl and a short curse.]

Damn it all. [The PCD is tossed over his shoulder and quickly forgotten.] I don’t have time for this! I gotta find Kagome and the others. It’s faint, but I can definitely smell traces of Kagome and Sango around here. Not to mention Sesshoumaru and that bastard Naraku...

[Getting down on all fours, Inuyasha starts sniffing the ground, trying to pick up a better scent trail. This faithful puppy won’t stop until he’s found his friends.]

[Sango can't decide if this is the best or worst possible time to see her friend again. On one hand--he's here to help protect Kagome, protect everyone, from Naraku. He's one of very few people she can trust to be able to protect when things get rough, a list from which she herself is beginning to be excluded. And it's another ally whose help she doesn't need to shun in order to protect. InuYasha is already hopelessly entangled in Naraku's web, just like her.]

...I can't even believe this. First Naraku, then Sesshoumaru, then Kagome--after all this time--!

[But she's being incoherent, she realizes. She takes a deep breath.]

Look, InuYasha, this is going to be confusing, so listen well. We're not in our world anymore. [A pause, to let it sink in.] We're in a place called Adstringendum, where worlds literally collide. We've been taken from there... and we're trapped here. Alongside people from other worlds, and Kagome-chan, Sesshoumaru, and... Naraku.

[A beat, and she locks the feed.]

And before you do anything you'll regret [because Lucifer's influence is in the air, and there is chaos everywhere] --he can't die here. No one can. All that results in is resurrection. So don't--don't try it.

[She says this with gritted teeth because she can feel herself desperately wanting to go after Naraku, like she almost did yesterday before Riku stopped her. But it's pointless. Pointless, pointless. But the frustration bubbling up in her injured body is undeniable.]

[Inuyasha can handle some pretty weird stuff, considering he time-travels by jumping into a well and all. Still, Sango's story almost seems too far-fetched for him.]

What're you tryin' to say? That we can't return back home anymore? This is all Naraku's doing, isn't it?

[He grits his teeth in frustration. After all they've been through, after all the work they put into trying to destroy Naraku, and they can't even kill him? Inuyasha just won't believe it. Sorry Sango, but he'll kill him as many times as he has to until Naraku stays dead for good.]

Tch...forget that for now. What the hell happened to you?

We might go home, but it won't be of our own decision. Someone brought us here--it's speculated between the Animus and some scientists... no, for once, it's not Naraku's doing. He's trapped too--

[She freezes and grimaces at his implication. How could she have forgotten to keep it to voice feed? Not that InuYasha wouldn't have found out anyway, but...]

...things happened. It's been crazier than usual here lately... [Vagueness, yes. She's not telling InuYasha who did this yet, because she doesn't want to see Rin or Riku get mauled.]

I'll send Kagome-chan and Kirara to get you.

'Animus' and 'scientists'? You ain't makin' any sense.

[He grips his PCD tighter, frustrated that he can't get to them sooner.]

Don't. This place ain't safe enough for Kagome to wanderin' around in, especially if whatever attacked you is still roamin' around.

I know I'm not--but it'll make sense later. And I'm sending Kirara, so it'll be alright. Besides, he's not wandering around anymore and the quicker Kagome-chan gets to you, the quicker you can be protecting her, right? [Have a wan but relieved smile.]

She's missed you, you know. Even with just two weeks here... I can tell.

[He can't help but feel a little guilty over leaving Kagome alone, even if it wasn't exactly intentional. Not like he'll admit out loud, though.]

[He sits cross-legged on the ground, PCD in front of him while he taps a finger against his arm impatiently. Might occasionally throw in a leg jiggle just to make things even more annoying.]

What're you talkin' about? Of course I haven't been here before. I would've remembered if I had.

No, you wouldn't. I'm pretty sure this might even be your third or fourth time here, too, though I wasn't around for the first. When you go home... you lose all the memories of this place. And while we're here, time stops at home, so no one notices that we're gone.

...I've been here four months already and I guarantee you haven't noticed. Though that may be because I'm from a point in time further than yours.

[He's silent for a minute as he tries to absorb all this.]

What, you mean you might be from the future or somethin'?

Maybe. What's the last thing you remember?

The last thing I remember? Well, I guess we were just searchin' for Naraku. It was a day or so after I defeated Ryuukotsusei and learned the Backlash Wave.

[He wasn't gonna say anything, but...yeah, his curiosity is getting the better of him.]

So what happens?

[She smiles a little.]

The usual. We fight together. Naraku gets stronger, but so do we. There are hardships and problems, but we always overcome them. Tessaiga gets a new ability--it becomes the Red Tessaiga, which can cut through barriers. Right now we're fighting enemies called the Shichinintai, a band of seven humans that Naraku resurrected from the dead with shards. Several have been defeated. You and Kagome-chan are near a place called Mt. Hakurei, since we've managed to track down Naraku there--Houshi-sama and I are inside, fighting Kagura... and Kohaku, and as I recall, a horde of lesser youkai. [Just the slightest hitch in her voice and the smile fades quickly.] It's a holy mountain, so you can't enter. We haven't yet figured out why Naraku's incarnations can be there, though.

[It's cool to hear that his sword becomes even stronger in the future, but the news that Naraku is still out and about is troubling.]

Tch. So even after all that, we still haven't defeated Naraku? Damn...

....Well, none of that matters right now. If we can get Naraku's part of the jewel and then find a way to get out of here, then we won't have to worry about him no more.

[Sango looks almost horrified.]

InuYasha... even if we could get out of here... You can't mean to say that you would just leave Naraku here with the rest of these people!

[Because even though this plan is impossible... It's the principle of the thing.]

[Inuyasha starts to open his mouth, only to quickly snap it shut again. Sango was right; there was no way he could just leave the people here to deal with Naraku. Even if he didn't know them, it was just too cruel a fate.]

Then I guess we'll just have to figure out some way to defeat him here.
